“The Snuggle is Real!”
You may be asking why having extra help in your home after bringing home your new bundle of joy would be beneficial.
Having a nurse during your post-partum or fourth trimester could be the best decision you make to help the transition into your new life with your new baby.
As labor & delivery, NICU and Couplet Care nurses as well as mothers for many years, our nurses understand all the ways we can help you and your family during this beautiful, but tiring time.
Most of our families will benefit from our services the most during the first 1-6 weeks, but we are able to accommodate requests for any amount of time, as long as the shift is at least 4 hours minimum.
Peace of mind
Our nursing team has experience with taking care of singles and multiples. They are trained to recognize anything concerning with mom or baby and have the certifications needed to provide any type of medical assistance that falls within nurse practice guidelines. Our nurses have both adult and infant Advanced CPR training if the need arises & have the most thorough background checks available. Ample planning time allows our parents to interview our nurses prior to the arrival of your new baby (or babies) so that you feel completely comfortable with your nursing team. This seasoned team of nurses will become part of your family & give you exactly what you need emotionally and physically to be able to enjoy your time to the fullest with this new little passenger that has come into your lives.
Sleep-Zzzzs
We all know how important it is to have a good night’s sleep. We are healthier, happier and able to be more productive. Lack of sleep & stress affects your mood, health, and safety.
As your premier Concierge-RN Mother-Baby nursing team, we customize our care to your family’s needs. You can choose to be woken up for feedings for your newborn or you may choose to have us give the baby a bottle while you get a good night’s rest. There is no correct answer here, just whatever you and your partner choose is right for you.
Recovery
Recovery from both vaginal and Cesarean birth can be hare hard on a woman’s body. As with any surgical procedure or trauma to the body, you need plenty of rest to help with proper healing. Our nurses will help with pain medication schedules, ambulation, wound care, nutrition, and bathing. We don’t just assist you with things like getting out of bed, we teach you proper techniques to use when we are no longer with you. We will make sure that you are tolerating pain medications, eating well balanced meals that contribute to the healing process and getting plenty of fluids.
Education
New parents will be educated on everything from feeding & changing to organizing and good nutrition. Incorporating siblings and other key family members into this process is always encouraged. We want you to be completely comfortable with taking care of your new baby when we are no longer with you, as well as feel completely rested both mentally and physically.
Feeding assistance
Whether we are washing & sterilizing bottles or helping you through those trying times while breastfeeding, our nurses are specialists in all things Mother-Baby care.
We participate in feeding your baby, as much or as little as you want us to. If you baby has special feeding needs, our nurses are trained for this also.
Sleep training
Sleep training is typically recommended by pediatricians to begin between 4-6 months of age. This is when most babies can take in more milk at each feeding, stay fuller longer, and should be able to go longer stretches without waking up. Our nurses have an active role in assisting infants with self-soothing techniques and promoting effective bedtime rituals.
Cultural Differences
American culture has taught us to accept that being sleep deprived is normal and that it is no longer a priority once your new baby arrives. Other cultures, such as traditional Chinese cultures, practice a thirty day confinement in a luxury environment after giving birth. Nurses are there around the clock to take care of mother and baby, offering feeding, bathing and nutritional assistance. This practice is said to keep the Yin & Yang in balance which keeps your body healthy.
These are two very different ways of welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world and we know that while there are many cultural differences, besides these two very different ideas, Concierge-RN respects what is right for you and want to be a part of making your transition home the best experience you can imagine having. We welcome all cultures, and all traditional and non-traditional family structures.
